The "monnnsta" series began with the idea of chaotic, candy-colored monsters—childlike doodles infused with the spirit of graffiti. Inspired by the likes of Takashi Murakami’s pop-surrealism, Jean-Michel Basquiat’s raw spontaneity, and modern street art, the work blends playful absurdity with urban grit. Sketches were first done on paper, then refined digitally to emphasize exaggerated features like massive eyes and jagged teeth, evoking both menace and humor. The character’s fluid, aggressive lines give it a lively, animated presence, while the use of high-fashion motifs like faint Louis Vuitton patterns introduces a layered critique of consumerism. Color and texture play a vital role in the series, with saturated purples, cyans, and reds creating an overwhelming visual rush. Spray-paint textures, splatters, and street tags build a background reminiscent of layered graffiti walls. Digital brushes mimic real paint drips and scratches, while clean highlights on the eyes and teeth provide contrast. Subtle overlays of luxury branding and abstract doodles hint at subconscious themes and cultural commentary. Final adjustments, like glitch-like fine lines throughout, add to the chaos, while the black border and signature anchor the piece. Created using Procreate and Photoshop, the artwork fuses traditional aesthetics with digital precision.
